Tata Harrier.ev Conquers the Beas River in a Stunning Red Bull Challenge

Tata Motors and Red Bull have teamed up once again to push the limits of electric mobility—and this time, they chose the mighty Beas River as the proving ground.

After climbing a mountain in Kerala in Act I of the Harrier.ev Impossibles Series, the electric SUV returned for Act II: The River Crossing, delivering yet another jaw-dropping performance. What followed was a challenge where, quite literally, the river lost the argument.

The event took place at a wide stretch of the Beas River, downstream of the Pong Dam in Himachal Pradesh. The course designed for the Harrier.ev was divided into three demanding stages:

  • Stage 1: Navigating a sharp, rocky riverbank

  • Stage 2: Entering deep backwaters

  • Stage 3: Tackling strong flowing currents in the main channel

Behind the wheel was Red Bull rally driver Abdo Feghali, known for extreme motorsport challenges. The Harrier.ev powered through each section with stability, traction, and precise control—showcasing how EVs are redefining performance in harsh terrains.

The challenge used the Harrier.ev QWD (Quadra Wheel Drive) dual-motor variant, equipped with:

  • 235 BHP rear permanent magnet synchronous motor

  • 156 BHP front induction motor

  • Combined strength distributed across an intelligent all-wheel-drive system

Supporting the motors is a 75 kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive 627 km range (MIDC). This setup ensured the SUV had both the torque and control needed to dominate slippery rocks, sudden depth drops, and unpredictable river currents.

The River Crossing challenge marks another bold step in Tata Motors’ storytelling around the Harrier.ev—framing it not just as an EV, but as a machine built to delete impossible. With Red Bull adding its signature adrenaline-driven approach, this collaboration has created yet another moment that showcases India’s growing EV capability on a global stage.
