Ola S1 X+ Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

The Ola S1 X+ has created serious buzz in India’s electric scooter market with its competitive pricing, stylish design, and tech-focused features. Priced affordably but carrying the legacy of the S1 Pro and Gen2 platform, many are wondering — does it live up to the hype?

We took a deep dive into the Ola S1 X+ to understand its real-world performance, features, pros & cons, and whether it’s the right EV for you.

At first glance, the Ola S1 X+ doesn’t scream “budget EV.” It inherits the sleek, modern design language of its siblings but drops a few premium touches like an aluminium footboard and fancy panels to keep costs in check.

  • Build Quality: Solid for the segment; feels better than many other EVs under ₹1 lakh.
  • Color Options: Bold and youthful, appealing to Gen Z and young professionals.
  • Footboard Space: Generous enough for bags or groceries.

While Ola claims an IDC range of 151 km, real-world figures are closer to:

  • Eco Mode: ~115–120 km

  • Normal Mode: ~90–100 km

  • Sports Mode: ~70–80 km

The 3 kWh fixed battery is optimal for daily city rides. No removable battery, but charging at home is simple and affordable.

Despite being priced affordably, the S1 X+ comes with a 5-inch LCD screen (not a TFT) — but Ola packs in MoveOS software features, which elevate the experience.

  • Navigation Support
  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • Remote Lock/Unlock
  • OTA Updates
  • Ride Profiles

Ola is working on improving its after-sales service network. The S1 X+ comes with:

  • 3-Year Battery Warranty
  • Roadside Assistance (in select cities)
  • Service at doorstep in metro cities

Their app-based support and upcoming Ola Experience Centres will continue to improve service quality.
