The Indian automobile market is set to witness a major price correction following the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates. Several leading carmakers, including Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Renault India, and BMW, have already announced significant price cuts across their passenger vehicle portfolios, effective later this month.
Tata Motors new prices
Tata Motors will cut prices of its passenger vehicles by ₹75,000 to ₹1.45 lakh, effective September 22, passing on the full benefit of the GST reduction to customers.

Tata Punch (Compact SUV): ₹6,19,990 (↓ ₹85,000)
Tata Nexon (Compact SUV): ₹7,99,990 (↓ ₹1.55 lakh)
Tata Curvv (Mid-size SUV): ₹9,99,990 (↓ ₹65,000)
Tata Harrier (Premium SUV): ₹14,99,990 (↓ ₹1.4 lakh)
Tata Safari (Premium SUV): ₹15,49,990 (↓ ₹1.45 lakh)
Mahindra & Mahindra new prices after Gst cut rate
On September 6, Mahindra & Mahindra announced a price reduction of up to ₹1.56 lakh. However, the cuts are limited to ICE (internal combustion engine) variants, with EVs excluded.

XUV 3XO Petrol: ₹7,99,000 (↓ ₹1.4 lakh)
XUV 3XO Diesel: ₹9,99,001 (↓ ₹1.56 lakh)
Scorpio N: ₹13,99,200 (↓ ₹1.45 lakh)
XUV 700: ₹14,49,000 (↓ ₹1.43 lakh)
Renault India
Renault India also confirmed a price cut of up to ₹96,395, effective September 22, 2025. The company stated that revised pricing will apply on all deliveries from that date, with immediate effect on bookings across its nationwide dealerships.
BMW car new price
Luxury car buyers too will benefit. BMW announced significant reductions, with cuts ranging between ₹1.6 lakh and ₹9 lakh, depending on the model.

Maruti Suzuki India
While Maruti Suzuki has not yet issued an official announcement, Chairman R C Bhargava hinted that prices of popular entry-level models could also see reductions. The Alto may become cheaper by ₹40,000–50,000, while the Wagon R could drop by ₹60,000–67,000.
