Ferrari Unveils Its First Electric Supercar ‘Luce’

Italian luxury sports car maker Ferrari has officially stepped into the electric vehicle era with the launch of its first fully electric supercar, the Ferrari Luce. The new EV combines futuristic styling, high-end technology, and extreme performance while keeping the brand’s sporty identity alive.

Ferrari’s First Fully Electric Car

The Luce marks a historic moment for Ferrari, as it becomes the company’s first mass-produced fully electric vehicle. Known globally for powerful petrol engines and signature exhaust sounds, Ferrari is now entering the growing premium EV segment.

The name “Luce,” which means “light” in Italian, reflects the company’s focus on innovation and a new design philosophy for the electric age.

Futuristic Design Inspired by Simplicity

Ferrari collaborated with famous designer Jony Ive along with industrial designer Marc Newson to develop the Luce’s styling.

Unlike traditional Ferrari models, the Luce features a sleek glass-dominated exterior with a modern aerodynamic shape. The design focuses on minimalism while still maintaining an aggressive supercar presence.

Ferrari chairman John Elkann reportedly described the EV as something that challenges the usual image of a sports car.

Ferrari enters the EV market with the futuristic Luce electric supercar featuring advanced design and high performance.

Powerful Four-Motor Electric Setup

The Ferrari Luce is expected to deliver exceptional performance through a four-electric-motor setup. The supercar can reportedly accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds, placing it among the fastest EVs in the world.

Ferrari aims to deliver instant torque, high-speed stability, and sharp handling similar to its petrol-powered performance cars.

Cabin Mixes Retro Ferrari Feel with Modern Technology

Inside the cabin, Ferrari has avoided creating an oversized touchscreen-heavy interior. Instead, the Luce combines physical controls with digital technology to maintain a driver-focused experience.

Key interior highlights include:

  • 12.5-inch OLED digital instrument cluster
  • Floating leather-and-glass center console
  • Three-spoke aluminium steering wheel
  • Physical knobs and switches
  • Movable 10-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Glass-inspired gear selector
  • Special launch-control grip inspired by helicopter controls

Ferrari says the layout is designed to reduce distractions while driving at high speeds.

Ultra-Luxury Price Tag

The Ferrari Luce is expected to carry a starting price of around $640,000, making it one of the most expensive electric performance cars globally. The model will mainly target ultra-luxury buyers and collectors looking for exclusive next-generation supercars.

With the Luce, Ferrari joins other luxury brands rapidly moving toward electrification while still trying to preserve their unique driving experience.
