India’s electric vehicle market is growing rapidly, and Tata Motors has taken another major step with the launch of the updated Tata Punch.ev 2026. The company says the new Punch.ev has been designed to make electric mobility more practical and affordable for Indian families.
Price Starts at ₹9.69 Lakh
The new Tata Punch.ev has been launched at an introductory price starting from ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Tata is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, allowing buyers to purchase the vehicle at a lower starting price of ₹6.49 lakh plus battery subscription charges.
The EV will be available in three personas:
- Smart
- Adventure
- Empowered
Up to 355 Km Real-World Driving Range
One of the biggest highlights of the new Punch.ev is its improved driving range. Tata has introduced a larger 40 kWh LFP battery pack, delivering around 355 km real-world range and an ARAI-certified range of 468 km.
Fast Charging in Just 26 Minutes
Charging speed has also improved significantly. Tata claims the Punch.ev can charge from 20% to 80% in only 26 minutes using fast charging technology. The EV can additionally gain nearly 135 km of range in just 15 minutes under test conditions.
Lifetime Battery Warranty
To improve customer confidence in EV ownership, Tata is now offering a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for the 40 kWh version. The warranty covers unlimited kilometers for the first owner for up to 15 years under applicable conditions.
Built on Advanced acti.ev Platform
The new Punch.ev is based on Tata’s dedicated acti.ev architecture, which has been developed specifically for electric vehicles. Tata says the platform helps improve performance, safety, cabin space, and driving comfort.
The updated Tata Punch.ev could become one of the most important affordable electric SUVs in India this year. With better range, lower running costs, improved charging convenience, and battery warranty support, Tata is clearly targeting mass EV adoption in the Indian market.
