BYD India has announced a price revision across its electric vehicle lineup while simultaneously expanding its premium electric MPV range with the launch of a new BYD eMAX 7 Comfort variant. The updated prices came into effect from July 1, 2026, affecting select variants of the Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 7. Alongside the price hike, the company has introduced a more affordable eMAX 7 variant equipped with a larger battery pack, offering customers another option in the premium electric MPV segment.
BYD Raises Prices Across Its EV Portfolio
The company has increased prices on select electric vehicle variants by ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh, depending on the model. According to BYD, the revision is aimed at addressing rising input costs and foreign exchange fluctuations while supporting continued investment in India’s growing EV ecosystem.
The price revision applies to models including:
- BYD Atto 3
- BYD Seal
- BYD Sealion 7
Customers who booked these vehicles before July 1, 2026, are generally not affected by the revised pricing, subject to the company’s booking terms.
New BYD eMAX 7 Comfort Variant Launched
Along with the revised pricing, BYD has launched the eMAX 7 Comfort variant at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹27.90 lakh.
The biggest highlight of the new variant is its 71.8 kWh BYD Blade Battery, making it one of the more capable electric MPVs in its segment. The variant is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, giving buyers greater flexibility for family and commercial use.

Growing Competition in India’s EV Market
India’s EV market has become increasingly competitive in 2026, with several manufacturers expanding their product portfolios. While domestic brands continue to dominate volume sales, global manufacturers like BYD are focusing on premium technology, longer driving ranges, and advanced battery systems.
The introduction of another eMAX 7 variant gives BYD a stronger product lineup while the price revision reflects the broader cost pressures currently affecting the automotive industry.
Evmovz view
BYD’s latest announcement combines two important developments—a price increase across its EV portfolio and the launch of a new eMAX 7 Comfort variant. Although some models have become more expensive, the addition of a competitively priced electric MPV with a larger battery pack provides buyers with another attractive option in India’s premium EV segment.
As the Indian EV market continues to mature, manufacturers are balancing rising production costs with the need to introduce new products that offer better value, longer range, and improved practicality for everyday users.
