January 2026 turned out to be a landmark month for Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle business, as the company reported its highest-ever monthly domestic sales of more than 71,000 units. The strong performance reflects rising customer preference for Tata’s SUVs and consistent demand across segments.
Nexon and Punch Drive Growth
The Tata Nexon recorded its highest monthly volume ever, with sales crossing 23,000 units during the month. With this, the model’s lifetime sales have moved beyond the 10 lakh milestone, highlighting its long-term popularity among Indian buyers.
The Tata Punch also delivered a standout performance, achieving over 19,000 units in monthly sales, its best result so far. The Punch crossed 7 lakh cumulative sales in just over four years, making it one of the fastest-growing nameplates in its category.
Tiago Reaches Major Sales Milestone
Tata Motors’ entry-level hatchback, the Tata Tiago, crossed the 7 lakh cumulative sales mark, underlining steady demand in the compact car segment.
Strong Response to New Models
The company is seeing healthy market interest in its latest offerings, including the Tata Sierra, petrol-powered versions of the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, along with the updated Punch range.
Production Being Scaled Up
To meet increasing demand, Tata Motors has begun gradually increasing production capacity for the Sierra, aiming to improve availability and reduce waiting periods for customers.
