The Tata Safari EV is expected to become Tata Motors’ first three-row electric SUV in India. Based on the Harrier EV’s platform and technology, it is planned for launch during the festive season of 2026.
The Tata Safari EV is expected to be positioned as a premium electric SUV, with an estimated price of around ₹22.5 lakh to ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will likely compete with models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S.
The Safari EV is expected to share the Harrier EV’s 65kWh and 75kWh battery options. RWD and AWD versions are also expected, with the larger 75kWh battery likely available with dual-motor AWD.
The Harrier EV delivers up to 627km of claimed range, but the heavier three-row Safari EV is expected to have a slightly lower range.
The Safari EV is expected to retain the spacious three-row cabin of the regular Safari while adding several EV-focused technologies.
Expected highlights include:
- 6- or 7-seat configuration
- Large touchscreen infotainment system
- Digital driver display
- 540-degree surround-view camera
- Level 2 ADAS
