Porsche India has confirmed that the entire 2026 allocation of the new Cayenne Electric has been sold out within days of its launch. The electric SUV made its India debut on September 30, 2026, and buyer response has been stronger than expected. Ashutosh Dixit, Head of Porsche India, revealed that the company is now accepting orders for the second and third quarters of 2027.
The Cayenne Electric is offered in two variants. The Standard version is priced at Rs 1.77 crore ex-showroom, while the Turbo variant carries a price tag of Rs 2.27 crore ex-showroom. Despite the premium pricing, the Turbo has captured 40 percent of total bookings, showing a clear preference for the flagship model among Indian buyers.
Two Distinct Powertrain Options
Both variants use the same 113 kWh battery pack and dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout on Porsche's new PPE platform with 800-volt architecture. The Standard Cayenne Electric produces 402 bhp and 835 Nm in normal mode, rising to 435 bhp with Launch Control engaged. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 kmph. The claimed WLTP range stands at 642 km.
The Turbo variant is in a different league. It delivers 844 bhp and 1,360 Nm normally, surging to 1,140 bhp and 1,500 Nm with Launch Control. The 0 to 100 kmph sprint takes just 2.5 seconds, and the top speed is 260 kmph. The WLTP range is rated at 623 km. These figures make the Turbo the most powerful production Porsche ever sold in India.
Charging Capability Matches Performance
Fast charging is a highlight for both models. The 800-volt system supports DC charging up to 400 kW. At maximum capacity, a 10 to 80 percent charge takes only 16 minutes. A 10-minute session can add up to 325 km of range. AC charging is supported at up to 22 kW. This charging speed makes the Cayenne Electric practical for long-distance travel.
Practical Dimensions and Space
The Cayenne Electric measures 4,985 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,674 mm in height with a 3,023 mm wheelbase. It offers 781 litres of boot space plus a 90-litre front trunk. Standard wheels are 20 inches, with options up to 22 inches. The vehicle weighs just under 2,700 kg, reflecting the substantial battery pack.
Technology and Interior Features
Inside, the cabin features a 14.5-inch curved Flow infotainment touchscreen as standard. Buyers can add a 14.9-inch passenger display and an augmented-reality head-up display. A 14-speaker Bose sound system comes standard, while a 20-speaker Harman Kardon setup is optional. The Turbo variant adds powered rear seat adjustment alongside electrically adjustable front seats. Extensive customization is available across exterior colours, wheel designs, and interior themes.
Market Context and Strategy
The strong demand for the Turbo variant at Rs 2.27 crore indicates that India's ultra-luxury buyers are embracing high-performance electric vehicles without hesitation. Porsche will sell the Cayenne Electric alongside the existing internal combustion Cayenne, giving customers a choice between electric and traditional powertrains. The sold-out status for 2026 and the opening of 2027 order books suggest Porsche has accurately gauged the market appetite for its third all-electric model in India after the Taycan and Macan Electric.
The launch timing, independent of any potential India-EU free trade agreement developments, shows Porsche's commitment to bringing its latest global products to India without delay. With deliveries now pushed to 2027 for new orders, the Cayenne Electric has made a definitive statement in the Indian luxury EV segment.
