Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has closed an $85 million Series E funding round to accelerate its push into international markets. The round was led by deep-tech investors Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from existing backers including Speciale Invest, Qualcomm Ventures, TVS Motor Company, Zoho Corp, and Lingotto. Lip-Bu Tan, chairman of Walden International, also joined as an investor and will serve as an adviser to guide the company's entry into the United States.
Founded in 2016, Ultraviolette designs high-performance electric motorcycles and energy infrastructure. The company currently sells its F77 and X-47 models across 20 European countries. With the fresh capital, Ultraviolette plans to scale production, develop next-generation EV platforms, and expand its footprint across the United States, Latin America, South-East Asia, Europe, and Japan by 2027.
Revenue Growth and Profitability Targets
The funding comes at a time of rapid revenue growth for the company. Co-founder Niraj Rajmohan stated that revenue rose roughly four to fivefold to ₹130 crore in FY26. Ultraviolette is now targeting EBITDA positivity within the next two years as it scales operations. The investor lineup, which includes strategic players from semiconductors, automotive, and enterprise software, signals strong conviction in Indian EV hardware capable of competing globally.
Manufacturing Expansion in India
Earlier this month, Ultraviolette announced plans to invest approximately ₹1,000 crore to expand manufacturing capacity in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This domestic capacity build-out will support both local demand and export volumes as the company rolls out new models for international markets. Strengthening the electronics supply chain through partners like TDK Ventures and Lingotto is a key part of this strategy.
Product Pipeline for Global Markets
Ultraviolette has two new products in the pipeline — the Tesseract and the Shockwave — designed to underpin its next generation of global EV platforms. The company is targeting buyers of 300cc to 500cc petrol motorcycles in overseas markets, betting that Indian-built electric performance bikes can win in segments traditionally dominated by internal combustion models. At home, Ultraviolette competes with Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and Tork Motors in the premium electric two-wheeler space.
Strategic Adviser for US Entry
The addition of Lip-Bu Tan as an adviser is a notable move for the company's US ambitions. Tan brings deep hardware and semiconductor industry experience through his leadership at Walden International. Rajmohan described the appointment as an important addition, highlighting Tan's credentials in scaling hardware businesses globally. TDK Ventures and Lingotto are also expected to support the push into Europe and Japan.
The $85 million round ranks among the larger raises in the Indian electric two-wheeler segment, reflecting growing investor confidence that performance-oriented EV motorcycles from India can find traction in mature motorcycle markets abroad.
