Mahindra Thar.e: Expected Price, Range & Launch

The Mahindra Thar.e is expected to become one of India’s most exciting electric SUVs, combining the rugged Thar identity with an all-electric powertrain. Mahindra unveiled the Vision Thar.e concept with a five-door design and an electric AWD setup.

The Thar.e is currently expected to launch in India around late 2026, although Mahindra has not confirmed the final launch date. Recent estimates put its expected starting price at around ₹20 lakh–₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra has not yet confirmed the production-spec battery or range. Reports suggest the SUV could use battery technology from Mahindra’s INGLO EV family. An 80kWh battery in the wider INGLO lineup is associated with a claimed WLTP range of around 435–450km, while a smaller 60kWh pack could offer roughly 325km in the Thar.e.

The Thar.e is expected to focus heavily on off-road capability and practicality. The concept features:

  • Five-door SUV body
  • Electric AWD powertrain
  • High ground clearance
  • Rugged, boxy styling
  • Large touchscreen infotainment system
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Minimalist cabin
  • Central pivoting screen
  • Strong grab handles
  • Sustainable interior materials

Mahindra has also confirmed that the Vision Thar.e was designed around a high-performance AWD electric platform, while using recycled and recyclable materials in its construction.
