JSW MG Motor India is preparing to introduce its much-awaited new seven-seater electric SUV in India on August 26, 2026. The upcoming model, widely reported as the MG Hector Tomahawk, will become the company’s first Indian model based on its new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) architecture.
The SUV is particularly important for MG because it will bring a larger three-row electric SUV into the company’s portfolio, positioned above the existing MG ZS EV. MG has already opened pre-bookings for the model at ₹21,000
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Launch Date
The official debut of the new MG seven-seater EV is scheduled for August 26, 2026.
MG has already started accepting pre-reservations, with customers reportedly able to reserve the SUV by paying a ₹21,000 token amount through the company/dealership network.
The upcoming SUV will initially be introduced as a fully electric model, while MG is expected to introduce other electrified powertrain options based on the same platform later.
What Will the MG Hector Tomahawk EV Be Called?
The exact naming has been a major talking point ahead of the launch.
The upcoming SUV has been referred to as the MG Hector Hawk in some reports, while recent reports indicate that Hector Tomahawk is the name MG is likely to use. The latter has gained credibility after reports that JSW MG has trademarked the Hector Tomahawk name in India.
For now, it is safest to refer to it as the MG Hector Tomahawk EV / MG 7-Seater EV until the company officially confirms the final commercial name.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Design
Recent undisguised spy images have revealed much of the SUV’s exterior before its official unveiling.
The MG seven-seater EV gets a large, upright SUV design with a relatively squared-off body. At the front, the SUV features:
- LED headlamps
- Dual-element LED daytime running lights
- Connected-looking front lighting treatment
- Closed-off upper grille area
- MG logo positioned centrally
- Large lower air intake
- Pronounced front fenders
- Black body cladding
The SUV also gets large dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, black cladding around the wheel arches and door areas, and pull-type door handles. At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lamps and a dual-tone bumper treatment are expected.
Three-Row 7-Seater Interior
The biggest practical advantage of the new MG EV will be its three-row seating configuration.
The SUV has been confirmed as a seven-seater, with a bench-type second row. This makes it considerably more family-oriented than many of the five-seat electric SUVs currently available in India.
The interior preview indicates a light-coloured cabin, with beige tones visible in teaser material.
MG is also expected to equip the SUV with a large panoramic sunroof, giving the cabin a more premium and spacious appearance.
MG 7-Seater EV Range
Range is likely to be one of the strongest selling points of the new MG electric SUV.
Recent sightings of the test vehicle have reportedly carried “500+” range graphics, indicating that MG is targeting more than 500 km of claimed range on a single charge.
Some reports have suggested a figure around 530 km, while other estimates have pointed toward an even higher claimed range.
For now, however, 500+ km should be considered the confirmed direction rather than a final certified ARAI figure. The official battery capacity, ARAI range and charging specifications are expected to be announced at launch.

Expected Price
MG has not yet announced the official price of the new seven-seater EV.
Considering its positioning above the ZS EV and the larger three-row configuration, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to occupy a premium electric SUV price bracket.
Some pre-launch estimates have placed it in the ₹25 lakh–₹30 lakh ex-showroom range, but this is not an official MG price.
The final price will depend heavily on:
- Battery capacity
- Variant structure
- Motor configuration
- ADAS equipment
- Interior equipment
- Charging technology
- Battery-as-a-Service availability
Therefore, EVMovz should label any pre-launch price as “expected price” rather than presenting it as confirmed.
